Title: Dancin', Dancin'... Dancin' Machine! Series: L&L Fantasy Party Authors: Rella Rated: pG Summary: Rella and Sully dance... or try to anyways. ~*~
Still smiling, I wandered over to the bar and order up a drink, feeling a little flushed from my dance with Will. The sleeves of his coat were a little too long, so I raised my hands and shook them, letting the sleeves fall down my arms a bit. The bartender set the Cosmo in front of me, complete with a corkscrew lemon rind, and winked.
Saluting him with my glass, I turned and took a sip, surveying my surroundings. A blond headed Spike walked by and I grinned, calling out, Hey, Sully! Long time, no see.
He turned and a smile curled his lips as he looked me up and down. S a bi mo f y thn Is seen bfore, pet, he winked, Bu yr righ, s been a whil.
I almost had the good grace to blush. Almost.
So, whas y don all by yr lonsome, pet? He arched his brow.
Mingling. You? I sipped my drink, feeling the warmth of the alcohol tingle in my belly. Damn lightweight.
He chuckled a bit and shrugged. "'Avin' m'se'f a bi' 'f a look abou'. 'S been a righ' long time since we's all been abou' a' once, 'ey? 'uge sodd'n' 'ouse, inn't?" His eyes widened just a little as he looked up at the ceiling. "Coul' 'ave a bloody bask'tball game 'n 'ere, coul'n' we, pet?"
I looked around a bit, tilting my head up to stare at the ceiling with him. Yeah... or fly some of those radio controlled airplanes...
He grined wickedly. Now tha' soun's t' be a righ' good idea! Wund'r if'n they's go' any 'f th'm 'roun' 'ere...? He bounced a little, looking around as if expecting to find some stashed away for just such a purpose.
I giggled and sipped my drink, grabbing his sleeve to keep him from bouncing away. Alright, Silly.. I mean, Sully... I'm sure one of the invisible staff could rustle something up for you... in the meantime, how 'bout a spin? I bopped my head towards the dance floor, arching a brow and acting as if I asked him to dance every day.
He blinked, then nodded. Tha's a bloody brill'nt not'n, pet... wund'r if'n they's go'n' play a fast'r song. I'd giv' a good bi' t' see y' pogo'n' 'n tha' dress. His brow waggled suggestively, humor playing at the corner of his lips.
I slapped his arm playfully, wondering if all Spikes had that leer genetically ingrained or programmed in them. What was I thinking? Of course they did. You can already see more than enough without me pogo-ing, thankyouverymuch. How 'bout a nice, civilized two step?
He plastered that trademark Sully pout on his lips for a moment before they twitched and spread into a mischievous smile. I knew he wouldnt be able to hold that pout for long. Not with the prospect of maybe catching a grope of me under the dress in question. Although, with Wills suit coat firmly fastened over it, it didnt leave much room for anyone to cop a feel. But Sully was a Spike, and no one, but no one could ever keep a Spike from their goal if they wanted it bad enough.
A'righ', pet... jus' f'r y', though. Woul'n' wan' 't ge'n' 'bou' tha' I's do'n' summat 's poncey 's danc'n' slow, he winked.
I tilted my head back and drained what was left of my Cosmo, setting the glass down on the bar and smiling up at him. Lead on, then and I'll follow. That way, you chose how poncey the dance gets. I teased, holding my hand out for him to take.
He grinned and wrapped his fingers around mine with a laugh, Dunno, pet... bu' I's will'n' t' giv' 't a sho'.
He led me towards the next room where we could see couples dancing through the large doorway. I giggled and followed, peeking around his shoulder.
Sure you want to go through with this? Lotsa people might see you being poncey and whatnot.
He furrowed his brow in thought, seriously considering it. For a second, I thought he was going to back out, but then he grinned hugely and shrugged a shoulder. 's a'righ'... they's go'n' fig'r I's do'n' 't t' ge' unner y'r... mail, pet, he smirked and dragged me into the room with a laugh.
I grinned as he led me to the dance floor. Well, youd have to get under Wills coat first He turned and I slipped my hand up to rest it lightly on his shoulder.
Y' know 'e's no' 'ere, righ', pet? No reas'n t' keep wear'n' th' th'n' if'n y' don' wan' t', he chuckled, taking my other hand in standard fashion. Uh... 'ow does we ge' start'd? One 'f us 's s'pos'd t' move, righ'? he asked, confusion in his eyes.
Well, lets start by going left a step or two, and then we'll go right... at least, that's what I think it's supposed to be like... we'll kinda let the music guide us.
His brow furrowed in concentration and he shifted from foot to foot a bit. Now... 's tha' y'r lef' 'r MY lef'? he asked, tilting his head in confusion.
Ummm.... I dunno... yours? I fumbled a bit, peeking over his shoulder to see what the other dancing couples were doing. I never really thought about it before. Every time I slow danced, my partner has just taken the lead.
He squared his shoulders nervously, looking around in much the way I was. Righ', th'n... an' off we goes, he sang optimistically. He took a step back, then stumbled. Bloody 'ell!
I giggled and looked around, hoping, for his sake, no one saw us fumble. Okay, how about... ummm... I moved a little closer and gently gave his shoulder a nudge, moving us into a side-to-side sway in time with the music. There... that's not so bad, huh?
He bit his lip and tried to look down at his feet, nodding slowly. 'S no' bad, 'n truth, pet... Bu'... 'ow's 't y' don' know 'ow t' do th's? Though' I's seen y' danc'n' b'fore...?
Well, my partners always leading, I smiled. I don't know how to lead... but I can follow pretty good. The swaying was nice and comfortable, and I relaxed into it. He was actually catching on rather quickly. His body moved to the rhythm of the music and didnt try to get in the way of mine.
He nodded at a nearby couple doing a dip. We's coul' try tha' if'n y' wan's, pet...
I looked over at the couple and smiled You sure? You're not going to drop me, are you? I teased lightly, confident that his bot strength would keep me from falling flat on my ass on the dance floor.
He took a moment to seriously think about it, though, worry making his brow crease adorably. After a moment, he shook his head a little tentatively and smiled. Don' thin' so... bu' I's ne'er tried 't b'fore, eit'r.
He made a move to take the first step and stumbled. Sighing, he looked down in my eyes. Migh' 'ave t' talk t' tha' Will 'f y'rs 'bou' learn'n' t' do th's be'er. Y' chits seem t' like 't.
Just hold on and do a little spinny thing... I'll lean back and just don't let me fall, and that should be that...
He nodded and swallowed hard, Righ', th'n... le's giv' 't a go... Slowly, he maneuvered us into a turn, tightening his hold on my waist just a bit as he bit his lip in concentration.
Leaning back, I let my body bow, tightening my fingers on his arms but trying not to cling too hard. He got a panicked look on his face for a brief moment, and then his lips spread into a wide grin. Pulling me back up, he laughed happily.
We's did 't, pet! We's dipp'd y'!
We sure did!!! We might even be ready for a spin or something! I wondered if he realized he was leading the gentle swaying now.
Y' thin'? He blinked, Rully? He thought it over for a few seconds and then smirked, suddenly cocky. Righ'. If'n we's done th' dip, we's c'n man'ge th' spinn'n'.
He nodded decidedly and tried to lead us into a tight, fast spin. I had to hop a bit not to step on his feet, but we managed to maneuver without falling on our asses.
Hey! Not too shabby! I giggled, feeling a little dizzy with the spin and the Cosmo going to my head.
He grinned, I's th' Lord 'f th' Dance! I tried really hard not to burst out laughing. He was doing so good that I didnt want to shatter his newly built confidence. Bu' y' c'n call me y'r Lordsh'p, pet, he winked, his blue eyes dancing with mischief.
You'd like that, wouldn't you? I snorted, my own eyes twinkling with humor. But seriously, Sully, youre doing wonderfully.
He beamed in pride. I even felt his chest puff out a bit. And so we danced the rest of the song and through the next.
